Meaning of Udyam
The notification issued by the Government says that from July 01, 2020, an MSME will be known as Udyam, and the enrollment or the registration process will be known as udyam Enrollment Registration. As per the official notification issued by the Indian government 26.06.2020, all existing MSME companies must register /convert to new Udyam immediately. As per the new law, every business unit registered under MSME / Udyog Aadhaar shall be treated as a valid MSME up to 31st March 2021, which means that all existing MSME Companies must register/convert on or before 31st Mar 2021 to enjoy the MSME Benefits provided by the Government.
New Definition of MSME under Udyam
Micro Enterprise: :
MSMEs will now be called as Micro enterprise where the investment does not exceed Rs 1 crore rupees and the Turnover does not exceed Rs 5 crore rupees.
Small Enterprise: :
Small Enterprise where its investment in plant and machinery limit has been raised from Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore with a turnover of less than 50 crores.
Medium Enterprise: :
With investments up to Rs 50 crore with a turnover of less than Rs 250 crore comes under Medium Enterprise. Earlier, the investment limit for Medium enterprise was up to Rs 10 crore and Service enterprises up to Rs 5 crore.

Personal Aadhaar number in the case of a proprietorship firm
In case of a Company or a Limited Liability Partnership GSTIN and PAN along with its Aadhaar number.
In case an enterprise which is duly registered as an Udyam with PAN, any misleading information for previous years when it did not have PAN shall be filled up on self-declaration basis.
No companies or enterprises shall file more than one Udyam Registration: Any number of activities including manufacturing or service or both may be specified or added in one Udyam Registration.
